We are into the fall of 2019 and that means MINING SHOWS in the region covered by Mid-Canada Forestry & Mining magazine. Enjoy the following guide to these events, which are listed in chronological order.

YELLOWKNIFE GEOSCIENCE FORUM
(November 19-21)

This annual event is the largest mining and petroleum conference and trade show in the Northwest Territories. The joint initiative of the NWT & Nunavut Chamber of Mines and the Government of the NWT attracts hundreds of delegates and exhibitors excited to share their knowledge, to learn from others, and to show off their wares.

The Yellowknife Geoscience Forum provides an intimate setting for delegates from industry, academia, and government to exchange information on mineral and petroleum exploration, mining activities, and geoscience research in Canada’s North. The Forum consists of a trade show and a technical program.

YUKON GEOSCIENCE FORUM & TRADE SHOW
(November 16-18)

Yukon’s 47th annual Geoscience Forum & Trade Show is being held in Whitehorse and hosted by the Yukon Chamber of Mines. The event features updates on exploration development and mining activities for Yukon Geoscience.

The Geoscience Forum & Trade Show is an opportunity to celebrate relationships and build partnerships while keeping up to date on trends and industry best practices. With First Nations, government and industry together under one roof, and an agenda focusing on geopolitical themes and technical talks, delegates are encouraged to interact with each other. Some themes for this year’s Geoscience include First Nations, innovation, infrastructure development and environmental reclamation.

The success of the Geoscience Forum has long been rooted in the strength of the technical program. Results of recent mapping and research conducted by the Yukon Geological Survey and other geoscientists will be presented along with exploration overviews by neighbouring jurisdictions in BC and Alaska and results of exploration programs from industry and prospectors.

The Geoscience Trade Show features exhibitors from around the world participating over the four days. Conveniently located beside where the talks are presented, in the Yukon Convention Centre, delegates are encouraged to interact with vendors through such events as the ‘ice-breaker’ reception and lunches on the trade show floor. SASKATCHEWAN GEOLOGICAL OPEN HOUSE
(December 2-4)

The 50th annual Saskatchewan Geological Open House will be hosted at the Delta Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon from Monday, Dec. 2 to Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2019.

The conference is co-hosted by the Saskatchewan Geological Survey, Ministry of the Economy, Government of Saskatchewan, and the independent, non-profit Saskatchewan Geological Society. The event profiles high-quality geoscience in support of Saskatchewan’s mineral industry, while promoting earth sciences in the public at large.

The Open House continues to be the premier annual meeting venue for mining and mineral exploration companies active in Saskatchewan with over 700 local, national, and international delegates attending annually.

This year’s Open House features a strong technical program. The program will profile geoscience endeavours of the Saskatchewan Geological Survey and feature a number of talks from academia and industry that highlight various exploration and development projects as well as advances in exploration techniques. An IceBreaker event, trade show, poster session, and short course round out the event.

Commercial exhibits will be located within the Conference Foyer, Terrace Lounge, and the Adam Ballroom of the main Convention floor and in the William Pascoe Room on the Mezzanine floor. Technical posters and technical talks are on the Mezzanine Floor within the William Pascoe Room and Battleford Room respectively. Exhibition space is limited, so book now.

It is thanks to the support of the exhibitors and sponsors that we are able to once again offer free registration to all conference delegates.
