With the theme “Building Collaboration - Saving Lives Together,” the event brought attendees the latest research and new practical tools to enhance their mine rescue and safety programs. The summit enabled attendees to strengthen professional networks while sharing their knowledge through presentations and discussions with esteemed speakers and each other.

This interactive two days exhibited best practices to improve capacity and ability with an ultimate goal of safety and synergy among all.

The “Who’s Who” of Manitoba mining was present including:
• The Honourable Blaine Pedersen. Minister of Manitoba Growth, Enterprise and Trade;
• Representatives from Manitoba Mineral Resources and Workplace, Safety and Health; and
• Decision-makers/leaders from Manitoba’s operating mines including Hudbay, Vale, Tanco and Graymont.

Alistair Ross, newly appointed Director, North Atlantic Base Metals, Vale Canada Ltd. presented Thursday’s keynote address.

A trade show ran 8:00am to 4:00pm both days, providing an excellent opportunity for attendees to see the latest in safety products and services.
